ABOUT US
Darkness falls across the land…
and, make no mistake it is darkness that Phantasmag concerns itself with. The gloomy and the macabre, the strange and unusual. There is a wealth of words to describe this phenomenon because our beloved horror genre is a multifaceted beast—and we aim to explore its many faces.

Reanimating the corpses of 70s and 80s horror zines, Phantasmag is a biannual print publication. First and foremost, the magazine was born out of necessity. Horror, above all other other genres, has always celebrated outcasts. However, as a queer person obsessed with horror, mine is the position of an outsider in an outsider’s community. Therefore, while we take an interest in all stories, Phantasmag is at its heart the product of queer and female perspectives.

I’ve always sought out horror in its various forms. Accordingly, Phantasmag is a cabinet of curiosities. We love scary films and TV as much as the next ghoul, but we also spotlight everything from groundbreaking gruesome literature to eerie liminal space photography. Across our grim pages, you’ll find articles on fashion, history, art, music, and more.

Let Phantasmag be your new haunt. We aim to cure those cursed with a perpetual hunger for horror, or at least satiate them for a little while.

Stay scared,
Lana
